Inhabitants

Clownfish, Blue Tang, Angelfish, Pufferfish, Seahorse, Jellyfish, and a Crab — each with randomised colours and its own personality. Rare visitors include a Sea Turtle and something else entirely.

The Clock & Alarm

The clockOn the hour it rolls across the back wall with a rumble and chime. At :30 it spins once (random direction) and plays a single chime. Click the clock to set display style, switch to Big mode (a large centered clock for using the tank as a proper clock — it stays put and skips the roll), pick a chime, or set an alarm. Every clock carries smartwatch-style complications: your local weather and temperature, the date, and — when an alarm is set — a small bell. Hover (or tap) the weather for a quick forecast; click it to open a full weather panel with current conditions and details (feels-like, humidity, dew point, wind, pressure, visibility), the next few hours, and a live radar map of your area — set your ZIP code there too. Click the date to open a month calendar with today highlighted. Drag the clock's brightness slider all the way down to hide the clock completely — it keeps ticking, just out of sight. To bring it back, open Settings and press Show under Clock. AlarmEnable an alarm and set a time in the clock panel — at that time, your selected chime rings once per second in sync with a tank shake. A small bell appears on the clock face while it's armed — hover or tap it to see the set time — and a red ALARM OFF button appears above the clock; click it to dismiss. Set the alarm volume with the slider in the clock panel — drag it and the alarm sounds so you can dial it in by ear. Works in all modes, quieter in Peaceful.

The Radio

Wellborn ElectronicsTap Radio in the menu for a retro receiver streaming live stations worldwide. Click the screen for the station list; tune with ◀◀ ▶▶. A volume knob plus a full 5-band equalizer for tone. Minimizes to the background while it plays. Each dropdown row has its own star. The EQ is the radio's tone control; switch it off for a flat, untouched signal. Your bands and on/off state are saved. Weather radioTap WX to jump to your nearest NOAA Weather Radio feed — it overrides whatever's playing and glows green. Tap it again and the radio resumes the station you were on (or stays off, if it was). Feeds are volunteer-hosted, so it tries the next-nearest if one is silent.

Sky Tonight: Planets & the ISS

The ✦ Tonight panel now also shows which naked-eye planets — Mercury through Saturn — are above your horizon right now and in which direction, plus the next visible pass of the International Space Station (rise time, direction, and peak height), courtesy of NASA/JPL.

NOAA Weather Radio

A new WX button on the radio jumps straight to your nearest NOAA Weather Radio feed, overriding whatever's playing and glowing green. Tap it off and your previous station resumes right where it left off.

Fuller Weather Card

The weather panel now shows the details, not just the temperature: feels-like, humidity, dew point, wind direction & speed, barometric pressure, and visibility — whatever your local source reports.

Radio Equalizer

The Wellborn set now has a 5-band graphic equalizer — tap ≣ EQ for sliders from 60 Hz to 14 kHz and one-tap presets (Flat, Normal, Rock, Pop, HipHop, Dance). It replaces the old bass/tone/treble knobs as the radio's tone control; switch it off for a flat signal. Your settings are saved.

Sky Tonight

In the Sky room, a new ✦ Tonight button opens a sky almanac for your location: sunrise and sunset, first and last light, solar noon, day length, golden hour, and the moon's phase, illumination, and rise/set times — plus where the sun and moon are in the sky right now. Everything is computed on your device from your weather location; nothing is sent anywhere.

The Radio Grows Up

The Wellborn set now has a live signal meter that dances to whatever's playing, a search box to find stations by name, genre, or country, a Favorites list (tap the ☆ to save a station, then the ★ button to browse them), and a sleep timer that fades the radio out after 15, 30, 45, or 60 minutes. Use ↺ to return to the top stations.

Click the Date for a Calendar

Click the date on any clock — digital or analog — and a small month calendar opens with today highlighted. Page through months with the arrows, or jump back with Today.

Weather Panel with Live Radar

Click the weather icon on the clock to open a full panel: current conditions, the next few hours, and a live radar map centered on your location — real precipitation, refreshed automatically, on a dark regional map. Set or clear your ZIP right in the panel.

Fish That Know Where You Are

Every so often a fish's thought now reflects your actual town, the current weather, and the time of day — "I finally made it to the [your town] tank," "heard it's pouring out there," "nobody watches the tank this late." Drawn from your local conditions, never the same twice.

Alarm Volume & Hourly Forecast

The clock panel now has an alarm-volume slider — drag it and the alarm sounds so you can set the loudness by ear. And the weather card now shows the next few hours, not just right now.

Anemone & Clownfish

Tap an anemone on the sand and it shyly recoils its tentacles, then blooms back open — and the nearest clownfish dart over to nuzzle in, just as they do in the wild. A small living moment hidden in the scenery.

Smartwatch Clock Faces

Both analog clocks now wear smartwatch-style complications: your local weather and temperature at 9 o'clock, the date at 3 o'clock, and a small bell at 12 o'clock whenever an alarm is set. Hover or tap the weather to get a forecast and set your ZIP, same as the digital clock. The numerals quietly step aside to make room.

Local Weather

In Digital clock mode, a small weather icon sits in the lower-right corner showing your local conditions — sun, clouds, rain, snow, or wind. Hover or tap it for a short forecast and the weather station it came from. Click it to set your location by ZIP code. Conditions come from the U.S. National Weather Service where available, and update on their own.

Big Clock Mode

Click the clock and switch to Big mode — a large clock centered in the tank, for when you'd rather use the aquarium as a proper wall clock. It sits still and skips the hourly roll across the wall. Tap the big clock to open its panel and switch back.

Tank Decorations

Every visit, a handful of ornaments are scattered across the sand — castles, shipwrecks, statues, shells, and stranger things. A fresh arrangement each time you load the tank.

Radio, Upgraded

Click the station name for a full list of stations to jump to, sorted alphabetically. Added Bass and Treble controls next to Volume and Tone. The dial now sticks to English, French, Italian, and Spanish stations, gives each one a few seconds to connect before moving on, and remembers whether it was open and what you were playing between sessions.

Wellborn Electronics Radio

A retro-styled radio receiver is now built into the tank. Tap Radio in the menu to open it. Browse and play live streams from 60+ stations worldwide — jazz, classical, lo-fi, whatever fits the mood. Includes volume and a tone knob that rolls off the highs for that warm vintage sound. Minimizes to the background — the Radio button turns green while it plays.

The Sky Room

A new background option that follows real time. At sunrise the sky fills with warm reds and purples; midday it's a clear blue; at sunset it goes to gold and coral; at night the lights come on — stars twinkle, a crescent moon drifts overhead. Clouds drift by all day. Every session picks a slightly different color palette.

Sound Mixer & Rumble

Each sound channel — Ambient, Bubbles, Pink Noise, Tone, and the new Rumble — now has its own volume slider. Set the exact mix you want, saved between sessions. Rumble is a very low 19 Hz sine wave, right at the edge of hearing. Some people feel it more than they hear it.

Chimes

The hourly clock chime is customizable — click the clock to open its panel and choose from Monastery Bell, Singing Bowl, Ship's Bell, or Temple Gong. Click any option to audition it. At :30 past each hour the clock also spins once (random direction) and plays a single chime.

Night & Day

The tank now follows your local clock. After 10pm it slowly darkens — colors shift to warm near-black. At 7am it brightens back up. The transition takes about five minutes each way, so it's easy to miss unless you're watching. The Sky room takes this further with a full 24-hour cycle.

The Worm

Something lives under the sand. Every few minutes there's a small chance it strikes — a giant mouth bursts through the floor, snatches a fish, and pulls it under. The fish always comes back. It never quite explains where it went.

Fish Thoughts & AI Names

Every fish now enters with a unique AI-generated name — hover over one long enough to see it. Occasionally a thought bubble drifts up: a short, absurd, or wistful inner monologue. The thoughts are refreshed by AI so you don't keep seeing the same ones. Near the chest, they get impatient.

The Octopus

A rare visitor. It arrives on its own schedule, settles on the sand, and shifts color slowly. It shares brief thoughts every so often. Click it for a reaction. It leaves when it's ready.

The Chest & Schooling

Hover near the treasure chest in Fun mode and the nearby fish pick up on it — they drift over and wait. Click to open and watch the food scatter in all directions. Separately, Blue Tang and Angelfish now swim in loose groups, adjusting to each other's direction and sticking close.

Backgrounds & HUD

Five photographic room backgrounds, plus Dark, Light, and Sky — all switchable from Settings. The menu itself can now be resized with the ▲/▼ buttons in the corner, saved between sessions. If the menu is too big or too small for your screen, that's the fix.

Original Launch

Eight species of fish swimming in a hand-drawn aquarium. Drop food, watch them eat and grow. Double-click the glass edge to startle the whole tank. The crab crawls the floor and occasionally attempts the wall. A message in a bottle drifts through every few minutes. Somewhere out there, a shark.
