The short version

Updraft (formerly Heartland Sky) is a tool for exploring public Bluesky data. It has no accounts, no login, no database, and no server of its own. Everything runs in your browser. We never see your searches or results, and nothing is saved once you close the tab.

What data is involved

When you look something up, your browser sends the handle or post link you entered directly to Bluesky’s public API (public.api.bsky.app) to fetch publicly available numbers — likes, reposts, follower counts, and the like. That request goes from your device to Bluesky; it does not pass through any server we control, because there isn’t one.

We do not collect, store, sell, or share any personal information. There are no analytics trackers and no first-party cookies set by Updraft.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

There is a single advertisement at the bottom of the page, served by Google AdSense, which is how the tool stays free. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads based on your visits to this and other sites, under Google’s policies. That advertising data is handled by Google, not by us — we do not see it and cannot control it. You can review or turn off personalized advertising at any time at Google My Ad Center. Your Bluesky lookups are never part of advertising; they stay between your browser and Bluesky.

Children

Updraft is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
